Meredith & Paul welcomed delighted guests to celebrate their intimate summer wedding in the heart of Paris. Thank you to Perfête blog for featuring this oh so special day and a grand merci to French Grey Photography and Hello Super Studios for capturing all of the happiness!
After zooming around Paris for their private portrait session, all gathered for the ceremony and reception at the luxurious Maison des Polytechniciens, a hôtel particulier in the St.-Germain-des-Près neighborhood that dates back to the 18th century. The bride and groom wanted their wedding to be simple yet traditionally elegant in a Parisian mansion that was tucked away from the bustle of the city!
Muted tones of blush pink, mauve and french blue provided the inspiration for the color palette, along with gorgeous accents of ivy and gold. The floral design made perfect use of the color palette with subtle pops of blue. Gold leaf detailing was chosen to give the wedding invitations extra sparkle!
The late afternoon ceremony took place on the terrace in order to make most of the cool breeze and the lovely amber summer glow (the summer sun doesn’t set until 10 pm on this side of the ocean after all!). Once the ceremony was over, guests toasted the newlyweds and proceeded to the cocktail reception that was hosted in the salon just off of the terrace. Guests names and table numbers were etched on acrylic cocktails stirrers and placed in each guest’s flute of champagne! Romance was in the air as a string duet played in the background and the garden fountain of the Maison flowed down below.
After cocktails, guests proceeded to the dining room for a lovely candlelight dinner featuring classic French cuisine and delicious wine! Then, before it was time to hit the dance floor, as a final surprise a beautiful dessert table including a semi-naked wedding cake, a traditional pièce montée and a champagne tower awaited them. The bride & groom lovingly let the champagne flow after cutting their first slice of cake. A few moments spent on sweet indulgence, and it was time to dance! Everyone headed down to the vaulted cave and finished off the wedding soirée by showing their best dance moves.
When it comes to having an intimate wedding in the heart of Paris, Paris is always a good idea… Come see why!
